Parents, beware of carnivals and festivals showcasing pony rides! These seemingly innocent pony rides are the starter drug of all future childhood horseriding obsessions.

Our sweet daughter, now almost seven years old, has ridden the festive pony four or five times in her life, and has decided that life on the homestead is but a shell of what it should be. It is perilously empty without a horse.

A local friend was kind enough to invite us over for a horse riding session. She held the reins at first so Katie could get comfortable. Lucky is a retired police horse, and has an excellent temperament.
